Five colleagues from CTH recently attended the latest Women in Timber event hosted by Timber Development UK (TDUK), joining professionals from across the timber supply chain for a day focused on confidence, resilience, personal development and industry collaboration.
Representing a range of disciplines across the business, including Compliance, Procurement, Sales and Shipping, the team took the opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences and gain valuable insights from speakers and industry leaders.
The event highlighted the important role women continue to play across the timber sector and provided a platform for open discussion around career development, leadership and overcoming challenges in the workplace. Through a combination of presentations, networking and shared experiences, attendees were encouraged to reflect on their own professional journeys while building connections with others working throughout the industry.
As part of the wider CTH Group, Falcon Timber and Hoffman Triesse are committed to supporting opportunities that encourage learning, development and greater diversity across the businesses and industries in which they operate. This commitment is reflected through participation in events such as Women in Timber, as well as colleague attendance at the upcoming Yes She Can EmpowHER programme. Events such as Women in Timber help create meaningful conversations, strengthen professional networks and showcase the wealth of talent helping to shape the future of the sector.
Reflecting on the day, attendees spoke positively about the opportunity to hear inspiring stories, exchange perspectives and be part of a supportive environment focused on empowering women within the timber industry.

The event also reinforced the importance of visibility and representation across all areas of the supply chain. With colleagues attending from various divisions, CTH was proud to see women from a variety of roles engaging with industry peers and bringing fresh ideas and insights back into the business.

Speaking about the event, Abbie Girling, Falcon Timber’s Procurement Coordinator, said
“It was an inspiring event. One of the most valuable aspects was hearing honest conversations about the different journeys in the timber industry. It was also a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with fellow professionals facing similar opportunities and challenges.”
CTH is proud to support initiatives that contribute to a more inclusive, diverse and progressive industry. By investing in people development and encouraging participation in industry events, the business continues to help create opportunities for colleagues to grow, connect and thrive throughout their careers.
As the timber sector continues to evolve, events like Women in Timber play an important role in bringing people together, championing talent and helping to inspire the next generation of industry professionals.
