Falcon Timber supports apprenticeship scheme
Based in Warrington, our national sales office department works alongside our various depot sales teams to provide solutions for our customers’ timber requirements.
The team is dedicated to developing long standing relationships with many national buying groups who appreciate the commitment from the team to their channel of purchasing.
Investing in staff has been key to the evolving national sales team. Falcon Timber understand the importance of investment in staff and how exposure within the business is vital in order to be successful. We take great pleasure when our staff reach milestones and two apprentices did just that this summer in Warrington by completing their apprenticeship scheme.
Ben and Tom joined the Falcon Timber apprenticeship program back in 2020. We spoke to them about their achievements, their work and how they see the apprenticeship aiding their career in Falcon Timber.

Whilst Ben applied for the apprenticeship after studying business and IT at college, Tom decided that an apprenticeship scheme suited him better after studying at university.
Both have enjoyed working as part of the team and learning the fundamentals of the business structure, something that particularly ties in with Ben’s previous studies.
Being part of a nationwide company has offered opportunity to travel and both have visited various depots most recently travelling down to Falcon Timber’s head office in the Port of Tilbury. The national presence of Falcon Timber can sometimes feel a little challenging to both Ben and Tom so visiting the various branches, offers both the chance to create internal relationships with key members of the wider group.
A rewarding apprenticeship
One of the most rewarding parts of the apprenticeship scheme has been working as a collective and nurturing the business relationship with our national sales accounts.
During the Covid 19 pandemic, both Ben and Tom were able to be truly ingrained within the business as demand increased, meaning that they gained an abundance of knowledge during an unprecedented time.
Future at Falcon Timber
Although Tom is a keen footballer (and once played with David Beckham!) he is enjoying his current role at Falcon Timber now as officially part of the team and is looking forward to continuing building on his existing customer relationships, getting ‘stuck in’ and working alongside the rest of the team at the Warrington office.
Ben is excited to be part of a growing team and is eager to continue working with Falcon Timber on our national accounts, refining his business relationships and plans on putting his education into action within a fun and competitive environment.
